Due to the pandemic it is important to raise awareness regarding the risks of wildlife meat consumption which is known as Bushmeat. Bushmeat is meat from wildlife species that are hunted for human consumption. Wild animals do not go through the rigorous control and management of farm animal husbandry where safety measures like routine health check-ups and vaccinations of the animals are implemented for public safety. Bushmeat is usually found in traditional wet markets which can be the source of many zoonotic pathogens. Actions including one health approach have to be implemented in order to prevent the risk of zoonoses.
