Daniel Bausch specializes in the research and control of emerging tropical viruses, with over 25 years’ experience in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Asia combating viruses such as Ebola, Lassa, hantavirus, and SARS coronaviruses. His long and diverse experience has led to him becoming a global expert and leading voice on confronting epidemics and pandemics. Dan is the current President of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He places a strong emphasis on capacity development in all his projects and has a keen interest in the role of the scientist in promoting health and human rights. Dan is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
